Windrush - Private Client
Our Brief
To give this newly renovated unique period house a bit of 'soul'! Rooms needed to be defined for use and as the property was on three floors the client wanted every room to be finished, lived in and used.

The client wanted to maximise any original features within a contemporary living space, a real mix of of old & new. The client loved bright colours & bold fabrics but wanted to keep a cosy, lived in feel to their home.

Our Approach
Originally a bakers shop, there was an original cast iron range in the room we created the 'snug'. The walls were painted a taupe colour to
make the room feel cosy & warm and customised big, squashy sofas were made.
Fabrics used for the blinds & curtains were shades of hot pink to add additional warmth and provide contrast.

Throughout the rest of the house walls were kept very neutral allowing colour and texture to be brought into the rooms with the clever use of fabric, colour and pattern for curtains, blinds & accessories.
Original fireplaces were restored wherever possible & original wooden floorboards were sanded & varnished.

The basement floor orignailly the bakers shop became the kitchen with lots of natural light flooding in.
Being sympathetic to the age of the house a 'shaker' style kitchen was installed with solid wood worktops, the contemporary twist came from subtle lighting installed into the staircase to give it the 'wow' factor.

The Result
The renovation of this house was a resounding success, culminating in it being featured in two interiors magazines, 'House Beautiful' & 'Concept for Living'.
